There are 2 selectors for PHP version. You should only change the one as described below:
1. Login to your Direct Admin Panel. The website link varies depending on which node you are on - check your service in the client area, or the email you received on sign up.
2. Head to "Extra Features". The location of this page varies depending on what theme you are using.
3. Click "Select PHP version". This is where you should change your PHP version and are able to enable any PHP extensions
